I've got a new book about Patagonia coming soon
DIRTBAG BILLIONAIRE tells the inside story of one of the most unusual and impactful companies in the corporate world.
Friends,
I’m thrilled to let you know I’ve got a new book coming out on September 9:
DIRTBAG BILLIONAIRE: How Yvon Chouinard Built Patagonia, Made a Fortune, and Gave It All Away
You can pre-order it now.
DIRTBAG BILLIONAIRE is the inside story of one of the most extraordinary brands in the corporate world — and the visionary leader behind it.
Founded by the rock climber Yvon Chouinard in 1973, Patagonia has for decades distinguished itself with one unorthodox decision after another, from its early commitment to on-site childcare, to its extensive efforts to clean up its supply chain, to its controversial political work and pathbreaking philanthropy.
DIRTBAG BILLIONAIRE charts the journey of Chouinard and his company over more than 50 years, from near-death experiences and brushes with bankruptcy, to high-stakes battles with President Trump and the decision to ultimately give the company away.
To report the book, I traveled to Patagonia factories in Peru, tested Patagonia gear in the mountains of Montana, and spent time with Chouinard — cooking with him at home in Wyoming and fishing with him in Argentina.
I’ll be sharing more about this project over the next few months. For now, here’s how you can help:
⛰️ Pre-order from Amazon, Bookshop.org, Porchlight (bulk discounts!), Book Culture (signed copies!) or Barnes & Noble. Pre-orders are essential for building momentum and I’m so grateful for your support.
